Diamo di nuovo il benvenuto al nuovo articolo di Edda Cinarelli, la nostra amica e collaboratrice in Argentina.
Il soggetto dell’articolo è il Festival Internacional del Cine Ambiental che si terrà la settimana prossima in Argentina, che tratterà, come dice il nome della manifestazione, temi di ambientalismo che attirano l’attenzione del mondo da decenni ormai, senza aver ancora avuto trovato soluzioni ai moltissimi problemi in ogni paese.
Infatti, questo tema tiene banco nella stampa mondiale regolarmente, ma il Sud America ha un ruolo particolare perché l’Amazzonia è giustamente considerata i “polmoni del mondo” e la deforestazione di questa zona sta creando difficoltà enormi per i paesi circostanti.
E non è un caso che in moltissimi paesi i problemi ambientali sono temi infuocati per i discorsi politici perché i politici hanno la sensazione che la soluzione di questi problemi potrebbe avere conseguenze negative per le economie nazionali, senza capire che il costo di NON risolvere questi problemi saranno ancora più dannose, non solo per le economie, ma, in non pochi casi, anche per la salute di popolazioni.
Nella speranza che noi in Italia potremo vedere i film del festival nel prossimo futuro, lasciamo l’articolo di Edda a spiegarci quel che si terrà in Argentina tra pochi giorni.

Il cinema come strumento di denuncia, in questo caso delle azioni depredatorie dell’uomo sull’ambiente con conseguenze sulle persone e sull’economia.
Il nostro pianeta sta gridando aiuto: inondazioni, terremoti, cambi climatici si susseguono senza tregua ma le grandi imprese internazionali, complice la politica, non se ne vogliono rendere conto e proseguono sulla loro strada indifferenti agli avvisi di catastrofe, solo per accumulare sempre più ricchezze.
Il loro unico fine è il profitto e su quell’altare sacrificano tutto, territori e popolazione.
D’altra parte, il cinema è un efficace strumento di comunicazione e di presa di coscienza ma di fronte allo sviluppo devastante delle multinazionali intraprende una guerra come quella di Davide contro Golia, difficile da vincere ma non impossibile.
Il cinema ambientale traduce in immagini e in racconti quello che altre persone visualizzano e vogliono migliorare con la politica ecologica che comprende movimenti ambientalistici, femministi e pacifisti.
Non si tratta di destra o di sinistra ma di lavorare contro l’inquinamento, occuparsi della difesa delle libertà civili per la giustizia sociale, di denunciare qualsiasi forma di sfruttamento dell’uomo sull’uomo, di svelare la violenza, promuovere alcune varianti del localismo per il progresso del territorio e di favorire il miglioramento delle condizioni di vita per una parte sempre più grande della popolazione, in sintesi di diminuire le differenze sociali e di aiutare i gruppi a rischio, come quello dei migranti, prodotti non solo dalla mancanza di lavoro nei paesi di origine ma anche dalla siccità o dalle condizioni climatiche estreme causate dalle azioni dell’uomo, per non parlare poi delle persone che scappano dalle guerre, in cui l’ingerenza di gruppi d’interesse stranieri è palese.
Festival Internazionale del Cinema Ambientale si realizzerà con ingresso gratuito ed è una mostra competitiva di film con l’obiettivo di generare coscienza sulla difesa della natura come bene comune e soggetto di diritto, è un punto d’incontro tra artisti, professionisti dell’industria, attivisti per condividere idee ed esperienze per creare coscienza sulla protezione dell’ambiente.
Il Festival è organizzato da “El Instituto Multimedia DerHumalc (IMD , Instituto Multimedia de Derechos Humanos dell’America Latina e dei Caraibi )” presieduto da Julio Santucho padre della direttrice del “Festival Internacional del Cine Ambiental” Florencia Santucho.
Avrà luogo in varie sedi come il Palacio Libertad ex Centro Cultural Kirchner, l’Alianza Francesa de Buenos Aires, il Centro Cultural General San Martin, CNB La Casa, la Scuola El Conti, la Casa per la Identidad, el Espacio Memoria y Derechos Humanos (Ex ESMA). Le attività speciali si svolgeranno nel Goethe Institut de Buenos Aires e nel Museo del Hambre.
Le sezioni sono: Justicia Climatica, Ecofeminismo, Ecociencia y Sostenibilidad, Horizontes energetico – Madre Tierra, Soberania Alimentaria Somos agua, Finquitas (Escuelas), Infancia y juventud, FICDH (Derechos Humanos), Foco Palestina.

Il FINCA è stato dichiarato d’interesse culturale dall’Honorable Camara de Diputados de la Nacion e dal Ministerio de Cultura de la Ciudad Autonoma de Buenos Aires. Ha l’appoggio dell’Ambasciata del Canada, della Repubblica Federale del Brasile, del Regno del Belgio in Argentina, del Centro Culturale di Spagna a Buenos Aires (CCEBA-AECID), Anchoita Films, Plataforma Lumiton (Segretaria de Cultura de Vicente Lopez) e ha il Mecenatismo Culturale di Buenos Aires.
Si rivolge a giovani che s’interessano di cinema, d’ambiente e di Diritti Umani, Studenti, attivisti e accademici, professionisti e qualsiasi persona che avverte l’importanza fondamentale della difesa della natura e i suoi ecosistemi.

We welcome once again the new article by Edda Cinarelli, our friend and collaborator in Argentina.
The subject of the article is the Festival Internacional del Cine Ambiental (International Environmental Film Festival) to be held in Argentina next week, which will deal with, as the of the event’s name says, issues of environmentalism that have been drawing the world’s attention for decades now, without having yet found solutions for the very many problems of each country.
Indeed, this issue regularly holds centre stage in the world’s press, but it has a special role in South America because the Amazon is rightly considered the “lungs of the world” and the deforestation of this area is creating huge difficulties for the surrounding countries.
And it is not a coincidence that in many countries environmental problems are fiery topics for political discourse because politicians have the sensation that the solution to these problems could have negative consequences for national economies, without understanding that the cost of NOT solving these problems will be even more damaging, not only to economies, but, not infrequently, even to the health of populations.
In the hope that we in Italy will be able to see the Festival’s films in the near future, we will let Edda’s article explain what will be held in Argentina in a few days.

Cinema as an instrument of accusation, in this case of the predatory actions of Man on the environment, with consequences on people and the economy.
Our planet is crying out for help: floods, earthquakes, climatic changes follow each other relentlessly, but the great international companies, with the complicity of politicians, do not want to understand this, and continue their path indifferent to the warnings of catastrophes, only to accumulate more and more wealth.
Their sole aim is profit, and they are sacrifice everything, territories and populations, on that altar.
On the other hand, cinema is an effective instrument for communication and raising awareness, but in the face of devastating development by the multinationals, it wages a war like that of David and Goliath, difficult to win, but not impossible.
Environmental cinema translates into images and stories that other people see and want to improve with ecological politics that include environmental, feminist and pacifist movements.
It is not a matter of right-wing or left-wing, but of working against pollution, working for the defence of civil liberties for social justice, denouncing any form of exploitation of man against man, exposing violence, promoting some variations of localism for progress of the territory, and favouring the improvement of living conditions for an ever-growing part of the population. In short, to diminish social differences and to help groups at risk, such as migrants, the result of not only the lack of work in their countries of origin, but also of droughts, and extreme weather conditions caused by the actions of man, not to mention people fleeing from wars, where the interference of foreign interest groups is blatant.
The International Festival of Environmental Cinema will be held with free admission and a competitive film festival with the aim of generating consciousness about defending nature as a common good and the subject to rights. It is a meeting point for artists, industrial professionals, and activists to share ideas and experiences to create awareness of environmental protection.
The Festival is organized by the El Instituto Multimedia DerHumalc (IMD, Instituto Multimedia de Derechos Humanos dell’America Latina e dei Caraibi , Multimedia Institute for Human Rights of Latin American and the Caribbean), chaired by Julio Santucho, father of the Festival’s Director, Florencia Santucho.
The event will be held in various places such as the Palacio Libertad, the former Centro Cultural Kirchner, the Alianza Francesa de Buenos Aires, the Centro Cultural General San Martin, CNB La Casa, la Scuola El Conti, Casa per la Identidad, el Espacio Memoria y Derechos Humanos (House of Identity, the Space for Memory and Human Rights, formerly ESMA). The special activities will be held in the Goethe Institut de Buenos Aires and in the El Hambre Museum.
The sections are; Climate Justice, Eco-Feminism, Eco-Science and Sustainability, Energy Horizons – Mother Earth, Food Sovereignty, We are Water (Schools), Infancy and Youth, FICDH (Human Rights), Focus Palestine, Ventana Ecozine (Spain), and the online selection of lumiton.ar.
The Film Festival has been declared of cultural interest by Argentina’s Honourable Chamber of Deputies and by the Ministerio de Cultura de la Ciudad Autonoma de Buenos Aires (Ministry of Culture of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires). It has the support of the Embassies of Canada, the Federal Republic of Brazil and the Kingdom of Belgium in Argentina, the Spanish Cultural Centre in Buenos Aires (CCEBA-AECID), Anchoita Films, Plataforma Lumiton (the Secretariate of Culture of Vicente Lopez) and has the Mecenatismo Culturale (Cultural Patronage) of Buenos Aires).
It is aimed at young people who are interested in cinema, the environment, Human Rights, Students, activists and academics, professionals and anyone who feels the fundamental importance of defending nature and its ecosystems.
