L’Isola di Ponza tra mito e bellezza

L’Isola di Ponza è la metà preferita dagli amanti del bel mare e della storia e, per questa ragione, è visitata ogni anno da milioni di turisti provenienti da tutto il mondo.
Ponza si trova nel Mar Tirreno; i suoi fondali sono cristallini ed è caratterizzata da numerose insenature e calette, oltre che da sentieri immersi nella natura e pittoreschi borghi.
Si tratta, dunque, di un gioiello prezioso e invero unico, giustamente tutelato da “fedeli” custodi, che svolgono attività quali quella di guide escursionistiche, pescatori, artigiani, viticoltori e, senza alcun dubbio, di albergatori.
Tra questi vi è Domenico Scotti, veterano dell’Isola e, da ormai molti anni, esperta guida naturalistica del luogo.
Domenico Scotti ama far conoscere ai turisti i luoghi più incantevoli dell’Isola: in primis Punta Fieno, Frontone e Punta Incenso, di cui non può fare a meno di raccontare la storia e la vegetazione.
Durante una passeggiata assieme alla guida è possibile approfondire la conoscenza delle piante della macchia mediterranea, oltre alle meravigliose spiagge di Cala Feola.
Domenico Scotti è, altresì, un valente conoscitore delle erbe isolane, con le quali è possibile realizzare infusi, tisane e decotti di ogni tipo, per la cura di svariate patologie.
Non a caso, sull’Isola sono presenti finanche vigneti che producono ottimi vini, apprezzati ed esportati nel mondo intero.
Domenico Scotti di mestiere fa l’albergatore e visto il suo amore per la natura, ha deciso di attribuire al suo albergo il nome Le Querce, anche in considerazione della presenza di questi particolari e secolari alberi presenti a Ponza.
“Bisogna valorizzare il patrimonio gastronomico dell’Isola ed accompagnare i turisti lungo i sentieri dell’arcipelago pontino, affinché rispettino e non danneggino la flora e la fauna di Ponza…”, questo il pensiero di Domenico Scotti, che non può non essere condiviso da ognuno.
In effetti sull’Isola sono presenti otto sotto-specie di ginestre, di cui una è endemica.
Perciò, tali bellezze meritano di essere tutelate da custodi “fedeli” che hanno costituito associazioni quali quella denominata i Custodi Della Terra di Ponza di cui fa parte lo stesso Domenico Scotti.
Un’associazione dal nome a dir poco eloquente, costituita nel 2018 e che, da allora si attiva per mantenere l’integrità di ogni bellezza presente sull’Isola.
…Un luogo oltremodo indimenticabile e che non potrà non stregare i visitatori che ne manterranno per sempre un meraviglioso ricordo.

The Island of Ponza is the favorite destination for lovers of the beautiful sea and history and, for this reason, it’s visited every year by millions of tourists from all over the world.
Ponza is in the Tyrrhenian Sea. The sea’s bottom is crystal clear and characterized by numerous inlets and coves, as well as paths immersed in nature and picturesque villages.
Therefore, it is a precious and truly unique jewel, rightly protected by “faithful” custodians, who carry out activities such as excursion guides, fishermen, artisans, winemakers, and hoteliers.
One of them is Domenico Scotti, a veteran of the island and, for many years now, an expert naturalistic guide of the place.
Domenico Scotti loves to introduce tourists to the island’s most enchanting places: Punta Fieno, Frontone and Punta Incenso, whose history and vegetation he cannot help but tell.
During a walk with the guide it is possible to learn more about the plants of the Mediterranean scrub, as well as about the wonderful beaches of Cala Feola.
Domenico Scotti is also a connoisseur of the Island’s herbs with which it is possible to make infusions, herbal teas, and decoctions of all kinds for the treatment of various pathologies
On the Island there are even vineyards that produce excellent wines, appreciated and exported all around the world.
Domenico Scotti is a hotelier by trade and, given his love for nature, he decided to give his hotel the name Le Querce (The Oaks), also in consideration of the presence of these particular and secular trees present in Ponza.
“We need to enhance the island’s gastronomic heritage and accompany tourists along the paths of the Pontine archipelago, so that they respect and do not damage the flora and fauna of Ponzi...”, this is what Domenico Scotti believes, which everyone cannot fail to share.
In fact, there are eight sub-species of broom on the island, one of which is widespread.
Therefore, these beauties deserve to be protected by “faithful” guardians who have set up associations such as the Custodi Della Terra di Ponza (Guardians of the Land of Ponza) of which Domenico Scotti himself is a member.
It is an association with an eloquent name, established in 2018 and which, since then, has been active in maintaining the integrity of every beauty present on the island.
…This is an extremely unforgettable place that cannot fail to enchant visitors who will keep a wonderful memory of it forever.
