Inaugurato il primo volo diretto ITA Airways Houston-Roma

Si è appena svolta presso il Gate D5 dell’Aeroporto Intercontinentale George Bush di Houston (IAH), la cerimonia inaugurale del primo volo diretto tra Houston e Roma operato da ITA Airways.

Alla cerimonia hanno preso parte numerose autorità locali e rappresentanti istituzionali italiani. Il Console Generale d’Italia Mauro Lorenzini ha sottolineato come questo nuovo collegamento rappresenti «un traguardo storico che rafforza ulteriormente i legami culturali, economici e istituzionali di lunga data tra l’Italia e lo Stato del Texas».

«Questa nuova rotta diretta, resa possibile grazie alla stretta collaborazione con la Città di Houston e il suo sistema aeroportuale, Ita Airways, con il supporto dell’ambasciatore americano in Italia Tillman Fertitta ed il Sindaco di   Houston, migliora significativamente il collegamento transatlantico e apre importanti opportunità di commercio bilaterale, investimenti e scambi tra i nostri due Paesi». Il Console Generale Lorenzini ha inoltre portato i saluti dell’Ambasciatore d’Italia a Washington, Marco Peronaci, estendendo i più calorosi auguri a tutti i passeggeri del volo inaugurale e manifestando grande entusiasmo per le opportunità che questo collegamento diretto creerà sia per l’Italia che per gli Stati Uniti.

Alla manifestazione ha partecipato anche Vincenzo Arcobelli, rappresentante al Consiglio Generale degli Italiani all’Estero (CGIE), il quale ha dichiarato: «La collettività italiana e italo-americana di Houston aspettava da molti anni questo volo diretto. Un collegamento che avvicina sotto tutti i punti di vista l’Italia al Texas e di cui la nostra comunità potrà finalmente beneficiare».

ITA Airways Launches First Direct Flight Between Houston and Rome

The inaugural ceremony for the first direct flight between Houston and Rome, operated by ITA Airways, has just taken place at Gate D5 of George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston (IAH).

The ceremony was attended by numerous local officials and Italian institutional representatives. Italian Consul General Mauro Lorenzini emphasized that this new route represents “a historic milestone that further strengthens the long-standing cultural, economic, and institutional ties between Italy and the State of Texas.”

“This new direct route, made possible thanks to close collaboration with the City of Houston and its airport system, ITA Airways, and with the support of U.S. Ambassador to Italy Tillman Fertitta and the Mayor of Houston, significantly improves transatlantic connectivity and opens up important opportunities for bilateral trade, investment, and exchange between our two countries.” Consul General Lorenzini also conveyed greetings from the Italian Ambassador to Washington, Marco Peronaci, extending his warmest wishes to all passengers on the inaugural flight and expressing great enthusiasm for the opportunities this direct connection will create for both Italy and the United States.

Vincenzo Arcobelli, a representative on the General Council of Italians Abroad (CGIE), also attended the event and stated: “The Italian and Italian-American communities in Houston have been waiting for this direct flight for many years. It is a connection that brings Italy and Texas closer together in every way, and one from which our community will finally be able to benefit.”
